It seems that a lot of the “odd & unusual” locations I visit are related to advertising. Things that bring attention to a sign or a business. This is certainly no exception. A female mannequin perched atop a buried pink Cadillac certain catches your eye!
As the sign says, this particular attention-getter is at Couch’s Body Shop, 2807 Blackiston Mill Road, Clarksville, IN. This gal changes clothes with the seasons and/or season’s events. In this photo, she’s dressed as a jockey. The photo was taken in early July, a little late for the Kentucky Derby (Churchill Downs is only about 20 minutes away).
According to what I’ve read, in December she’s a Santa’s helper, in March she is an Indiana University cheerleader. October she is dressed as Elvira, and when the road was flooded one year, she was in scuba gear. In late 2020, she appeared with a Covid-19 mask in place.

Apparently, she remains up to date with current affairs. I have read that in December 2020, she was gone and had been replaced by an owl. The close-up photo of her shows some wires apparently meant to keep birds off the vehicle (and their droppings as well). So, the owl kind of makes sense. If anyone as an update, please let email me and let me know!
UPDATE: Although I haven’t revisited this site, I noticed on Google Maps that business at the site is now “Myers Classic Cars.” The Cadillac is still there!

It makes you wonder what kinda trouble they went though to bury a Cadillac!
